Carol Roberts- Head of Asset

Carol has extensive and commercial knowledge having over 50 years experience in the financial services industry including 35 years as a seasoned Managing Director with GE Capital and Bibby Financial Services.  Carol is also currently a member of the Board of the Finance & Leasing Association and of the Leasing Foundation.

Carol joined the company to head up the Asset Finance Division which includes Academy Leasing, Onepm Hard Asset and Onepm soft Asset divisions.

Carol was awarded the Life Time achievement award by Leasing Life in 2017 an also the European CEO of the Year in 2015 by The Leasing Foundation.


Lorraine Neyland- Head of Risk

Lorraine Neyland joined in January 2019.  Lorraine’s background is primarily in the Asset Finance world, having spent 30 years with Bank of Scotland/Lloyds in a number of credit management roles, which has included managing a team of underwriters across the UK.


More recently, Lorraine has been Head of ABL Credit for Bibby Leasing Ltd, working with a Hard Asset sales team to deliver direct business, as well as a wide broker network; she has had a specific focus on developing the ABL business at Bibby, hence experience in packaging Invoice Finance and Asset Finance deals.  During her time at Bank of Scotland, Lorraine was also involved in the integration of Kellock Factors in into the wider business. Her experience and knowledge in risk management within our industry has been invaluable to the group.


Mark Burgess – Head of Vehicles

Mark jointly co-founded Car Finance 2 U which started trading as an independent business in 2011 before it was purchased by 1pm PLC in November 2017. In January 2019 in addition to his duties at CF2U he also took responsibility for the vehicles department at Academy Leasing.

He has three passions in life, his family, car finance and open water swimming……but does not indulge in all three at the same time!


Michelle Taylor – Head of asset collections

Michelle has been a dedicated member of the Academy Management Team for over 9 years.

She has helped the team achieve remarkable results on our collections and arrears. Michelle is also a member of the Institute of Credit Management. Michelle took over asset collections for the group in May 2019.
